Finish Line of L&D Thanks YearUp

During my time at YearUp, I learned how to appreciate Technology. When I say appreciate I mean understanding the four functions of all computers. I appreciate learning about the difference between productivity s/w & Utility Software. Utility software is mainly the Operating Systems tools as well as Anti-virus s/w and how it’s important it is to have security for any network. Just to protect your data stored on your PC. I learned the difference between hackers & viruses, and how to prevent these problems from accruing on your PC’s. I also learned the importance of paying close attention to detail, this helps me when im trouble shooting different hardware peripherals and software programs. I also learned how important it is to have component comparability with all your OS, apps, and hardware to support computers functionality. Also it’s important to know what brand & what year; your computer is. This way I will know where to begin to find replacements for your computer just in case you would like to upgrade your device.
I will ask questions, work hard and have fun because thats just what I do whenever I’m in an environment full of teachable Tech Professionals like Chi Chi, & Jeadi, and others. I would love to have a manager that takes time out of there busy schedules to help and teach me valuable lessons. Also I would love to build a strong relationship with my manager, this way I won’t be shy or afraid to ask them for feedback to inform me my work status for my own personal growth.
I will learn how to trouble shoot hardware more efficiently as well as trouble shooting software programs and Apps. I also want to learn how to work effectively at a very fast paste with minor errors.
I will go above and beyond with every single task I am given and try to prove to my manager that I can learn fast and also that I'm willing to put in the extra time to learn all the valuable tech skills. I will just keep on doing what I’ve been doing here at YearUp. Working hard, listening efficiently, studying my butt off to learn all of the new technology and learn why people would be better off using all of this new Technology that we all are surrounded by.
My plan is pretty simple if I get the job great, However if not I will continue to chase my dream to become a Director. I will travel to Los Angele's California and attend Film School to learn how to master 3D videos using final Cut Pro” filming programs. I have a passion for Technology & Film making. I have some amazing videos. I have some projects that I have been working on for about two years now with a filming company named Northbound Films. I am also a very unique dancer with a creative state of mind but there’s more to come with that part of my life. (DREAMERS RULE TURFIN247)
Zynga ready or not here we come……

Tips for Internship

I feel Avoiding negativity should definitely be first on my list, because I wouldn’t want to work for somebody that is rude and disrespectful in any department. I can understand them being rude to me; however I wouldn’t be rude to them back. I will make sure I treat everyone the same way I would like to be treated. To follow up with that, I would like to explain why my next choice is tackling tasks with enthusiasm. I love to see the reaction on my coworkers face when they ask me to do something, and my response is “YES”. Being willing to do whatever it takes to gain experience is all I live for.
“Getting as much exposure as possible”, is a great tip. This tip helps me showoff my skills while keeping up with the pace of the company. I try to focus on results and staying consistent, this will show that I am reliable. Finding a mentor is also very important. I wouldn’t feel very comfortable asking my manager questions when their will be mintors in my department that are willing to answer any questions I might have. Asking my boss tons of questions will only make me look bad when other resources are available. I have already begun forming personal goals for myself that I will achieve at my internship. I think this is a good way to practice exciting short term goals.
Having regular meeting with coworkers is very important. Meetings help everybody in your department stay on the same page and get more work done correctly. Asking questions is also a very important factor while I’m in internship. You must be strong enough to stick your head out there and communicate that you need help or that you don’t know because in that second you will be answered and then I can continue working effectively and correctly.
Never shun a Chance to Learn more about the company.
  •  Take a chance to learn about that company, attend after work events and build a relationship with the company.
Networking is key!
  • I will enjoy growing my network to better my future career.
